Illustration of Rip Van Winkle stamped in gilt to front board. A fine copy of a highly collectable book;- Apart from some slight foxing to the first four text pages this is a clean copy internally. One of 750 deluxe copies, signed by the illustrator. This copy is 643. Complete with twenty enchanting tipped-in color plates surrounded by decorative borders printed in bronze ink. The text is also enclosed by ornamental borders. Bound in decorative gilt-stamped vellum, bearing the title in Arabic-inspired lettering and an elaborate border comprised of peacocks, flowers, and elephants. A few small, light spots and slight soiling to spine, faint scratch to front cover, top edge of spine bumped, else a fine copy with the original silk ties intact.
